Members Present: Margie Amrom, Linda Amsterdam (Buster, yellow lab), Adam Braunstein (Max, brown Lab), Sharon Blumberg (Sasha, white Bichon), Ed Goppelt, Wendy Gosfield, Anselm Richards (Bechkett, yellow lab), Kate Wall (Floyd, fawn pugh), Karoline Wallace (Steve, black Shepard & Amber, blond Cockcapoo), Arnie Zacharias (Bucca, black & white mix).
We all discussed what could be done to raise money if in fact the Dog Association had to pay for this. Here were some ideas for a fund raising event at the park (Adam will compose a letter to FRSP):
1. Fund Raising & Fund Spending: Adam said that the FSRP had a surplus, and that if they decided to allocate some of it to the Dog Owner's Association, we should talk about what to use it for. He suggested that we use it to create a second door for the fence. This should cost around $3,600 (Ed Healy is getting estimates for us).
2. We quickly updated each other on our work list as follows:
3. New Barking Bill Issue: Margie Amron and Ed Goppelt were at the meeting to talk about the 78 letters that were written against the Barking Bill recently passed. They wanted to include the Dog Association as a signatory on a letter that would be sent, perhaps along with signed petitions, to city council asking for clarification on the new bill. Margie will compose the letter and pass it around to us by email. Kate Wall offered to take the letter, and collect petition signatures. The idea here is to understand the new bill, and perhaps have some input as to how the bill is enforced.
4. Graphics Design: Kate Wall is a graphic designer and owns a digital camera. She has offered her services for the T-shirt design and for the web site. Her help is most welcome and greatly appreciated.
