For Beloved Max

Dear Sharon and friends of the park,

I just want to let everyone know that after a long, happy and productive life my trusted and loved companion Max died last month from old age. He was almost 15 years old and that's pretty old for a large black lab. Even though we hadn't been able to come to the dog run for the last year and a half or so because of Max's back problems, Max grew up and spent his entire life chasing balls, kongs, and squirrels at the dog park and then in the dog run. We recently had a memorial ceremony for Max at the park where we sprinkled some of his ashes so that he could continue to enjoy and be close to the place he loved the most.

I want to say thanks to everybody that is now taking care of the dog park and to say thanks for all the great memories and great people and dogs I've meet there over the last 14 years. I really miss coming to the dog run with Max and playing ball and I hope you all continue to maintain and cherish the dog park the way I have. I would like to make a contribution to the dog park in Max's name. I'll be sending out a check shortly.

Sincerely, Adam Braunstein (founding president of dog owners association)
